A few questions based on the numbers:

Are there any clear cut teams that are the favorite to win the title?

Shenendehowa and Saratoga (with a healthy Dolly Cairns) are the teams to beat. Niskayuna is the third best team in the classification.

Is there a team seeded #4 or below that could that could win a couple games, reach the final or win the classification?

The #4 Colonie vs #5 Shaker game should be most competitive of the quarter final games.

Additional thoughts:

Shaker, Colonie and Albany have star players with sectional experience and loom as three teams that could pull off an upset of the top three teams.

A few questions based on the numbers:

Are there any clear cut teams that are the favorite to win the title?

Perennial champion Averill Park and Foothills champ Queensbury have separated themselves as the top tier in Class A. Amsterdam has the third best chance to take home the title.

Is there a team seeded #4 or below that could that could win a couple games, reach the final or win the classification?

Even though #6 Troy has to play in the opening round they avoid the top two seeds until the semi-finals. They have enough talent to win two or more games in this bracket.

Additional thoughts:

Amsterdam, Troy and Holy Names are a group of teams that are deep enough to prove dangerous for the top two teams.

A few questions based on the numbers:

Are there any clear cut teams that are the favorite to win the title?

Mekeel Christian, the surprising #3 seed, is the team with the best chance of winning the tournament. They have been playing their best basketball as the regular season has come to a close.

Is there a team seeded #4 or below that could that could win a couple games, reach the final or win the classification?

#4 Mechanicville, the defending champions, can make a serious run if they play up to their potential. They are in the tougher half of the draw with teams such as Schalmont, Hudson, Cobleskill and Greenwich all are dangerous.

Additional thoughts:

This is a really deep class. Cobleskill and Greenwich check in at #5 and #6 in the latest power rankings but they are slated to play each other in the 8/9 match-up.

A few questions based on the numbers:

Are there any clear cut teams that are the favorite to win the title?

Cambridge. They are the defending N.Y. State champion and the clear cut favorite to advance out of the section. Maple Hill is the 2nd best team, according to the numbers, but would still be considerable underdogs to the Indians if they were to meet. Maple Hill has just finished their second consecutive undefeated regular season in the Patroon Conference.

Is there a team seeded #4 or below that could that could win a couple games, reach the final or win the classification?

Duanesburg the #3 seed is a young team but are dangerous if they play well.

Additional thoughts:

I don’t think the classification is as deep as it has been in recent years. Duanesburg is clearly the third best team behind Cambridge and Maple Hill. After that there is Berne-Knox, Warrensburg, Hoosic Valley and Mayfield that make up the next tier of teams with the best chance to advance in the tournament.

Players to watch:  Alexis Wright, Berne-Knox, Taylor Meacham, Berne-Knox, Sophie Phillips, Cambridge, Lilly Phillips, Cambridge, Fiona Mooney, Cambridge, Stasia Epler, Cambridge, Monica Hartlieb, Canajoharie, Kylee Rickard, Canajoharie, Hannah Taylor, Chatham, Hailey Cascioli, Chatham, Naveah Daigle, Chatham, Madison Meyer, Duanesburg, Allison O’Hanlon, Duanesburg, Hannah Mulhern, Duanesburg, Sami Dickinson, Hoosic Valley, Sam Lanoue, Hoosic Valley, Ava Pushor, Lake George, Mikayla Duffy, Lake George, Natasha Strock, Maple Hill, Sophia Chevrier, Maple Hill, Karysn Berger, Maple Hill, Kelsey Meca, Mayfield, Lindsey Hampton, Mayfield, Cloey Dopp, Mayfield, Mechalle Cancer, Rensselaer, Mikayah Rushinski, Salem, Mackenzie Spencer, Salem, Hannah Cater, Schoharie, Marley Mueller, Stillwater, Molly Sheehan, Stillwater, Lily Zanello, Voorheesville, Abigail Ranous, Warrensburg, Hope Boland, Warrensburg, Aubrey Ranous, Warrensburg,

A few questions based on the numbers:

Not really. Slight edge to Fort Edward

Is there a team seeded #4 or below that could that could win a couple games, reach the final or win the classification?

The winner of the #4 Germantown vs #5 Hartford game will give their next opponent a battle.

Additional thoughts:

Six teams fall within 10 points of the top team Fort Edward. (Last year’s champ Bishop Gibbons, Argyle, Germantown, Hartford and Whitehall). This should be one of the most competitive tournaments in the girls classifications.
